Dr. Bryan joined the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency as Program Director in 2008. He completed a two-year term on the Executive Board of the Southeast American College of Sports Medicine in February 2011 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He is a member of the editorial board for Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach and a peer reviewer for Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, Current Sports Medicine Reports, The Journal of Family Practice, and Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Bryan also serves as a medical team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies, Clearwater Threshers, Tampa Bay Storm and USF Athletics.
Dr. Bryan's academic career began in 1999 when he left his hometown of Philadelphia, PA for Albany, GA to join the Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Residency as a faculty member. There he was promoted to Medical Student Rotation Director, then Sports Medicine Fellowship Director and, ultimately, Family Medicine Residency Director. He earned the National Institute for Program Director Development Fellowship, and accepted the Outstanding Programming Award from the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation for support of Pathway to Medical School program in 2006. Dr. Bryan also served as elected Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital from 2007 to 2008.
He loves spending time with his wife and two children, especially when relaxing at the local beaches and having fun at Florida's world famous amusement parks. Dr. Bryan also enjoys golfing, swimming, weightlifting, basketball, billiards, English darts, traveling, rock concerts, musicals and comedy.
