After completing his residency, Dr. Farrar returned home to Louisville, KY, and joined a private practice with a group of physicians that had taken care of his family since he was a boy. He eventually became Medical Director there and helped expand the practice. Meanwhile, he continued to develop his passion for sports medicine that began in residency by volunteering as team physician for a local high school. He wanted to develop his skills in sports medicine and joined the fellowship training program in sports medicine at Halifax Medical Center.
He joined the faculty of the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency in 2007 and is responsible for the curriculum in orthopaedics and sports medicine. In 2008, he joined the Subcommittee for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine's Fellowship In-Training Exam and is on the Planning Committee for the Southeast American College of Sports Medicine clinical track program.
Dr. Farrar enjoys weekend outings with his wife and three children, and running an occasional road race.
